Our 40 hour barre training is intentionally spread over multiple weekends and created with asynchronistic work so that there is time to absorb, practice and become a strong teacher or practitioner of barre.
Below are the specifics:
Weekend #1: 3/29-3/30
Location: Lexington
Time: 1:00pm-5:30pm
Objectives: Introductions, training outline and expectations, history of barre, outline of a barre
class, LPY specific barre, LPY barre community, music, begin learning integration portion of
barre class.
Asynchronous work: Assigned to help strengthen knowledge and keep practicing.
Weekend #2: 4/5-4/6
Location: Lexington
Time: 1:00pm-5:30pm
Objectives: learn/practice teach plank series, lower body series. Understand the major muscle
groups involved in this portion of the class. Understand how to adjust/offer different variations
of the exercise to meet student’s specific needs. Have each student practice teach a portion of the
class.
Asynchronous work: Assigned to help strengthen knowledge and keep practicing.
Weekend #3: 4/26-4/27
Location: Lexington
Time: 12:30pm-6:00pm
Objectives: Anatomy and deep dive into the core. Learning and practice teaching upper body and core section of class.
Asynchronous work: Assigned to help strengthen knowledge and keep practicing. In addition watch a prerecorded PowerPoint/Presentation on informed/mindful cueing….
Weekend #4: 5/3-5/4
Location: Lexington
Time: 1:00pm-6:00pm
Objectives: Learn the final portion of class (back dancing and stretching). Practice teach, additional practice on designing a class, how to adjust the class on the spot to meet the student’s needs, making an appropriate playlist, final questions.
