Meet Julie - Master's Student, Yoga & Barre Instructor!
Q: What are your three most important things in life:
The most important things in my life are my family, friends, and school. I have lived in Woburn for my entire life and I am still friends with the kids I grew up with. I come from a small, tight-knit, and all-girl family and they complete me! I am currently pursuing my Masters of Social Work, which is quite challenging. LPY is keeping me sane!
Why did you decide to do barre training?
I decided to complete my barre teacher training with LPY after I completed my 200-hour YTT. I have been a barre student at LPY for many years, and wanted to learn from (in my opinion) the best. I was thrilled when I was offered a teaching position! Not only is this an amazing way for me financially support myself while I am in school, it is my favorite way to relieve all the stress that comes with it.
How are you using your barre training knowledge?
Currently, I am using my barre training to help me financially while I am in school. This is a great side-gig for students, or for anyone looking to make extra money while also doing something mentally, physically, and spiritually beneficial.
What’s your favorite part of a barre class to teach?
My favorite part of teaching is making the playlists! I really do put a lot of thought into them. I try and ask students what they want to hear, and try to make sure the playlist appeals to everyone. I take requests too! Also, I love to teach back dancing. It’s the last “push” at the end of the class, and there are so many variations to teach.
